Want a limited edition Chanel or Hermes handbag? Have 60! Collectors and fans of Christie’s can start a bidding war on any of the 60 designer handbags on offer in the auction house’s new sale category, Element of Style.
Traditionally, Christie’s Middle East auctions, held between March 13 and 17 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, offer collectible art, design, jewellery and watches to discerning clients. This year, however, Christie’s has reached double digits, celebrating its 10th anniversary and its 20th sale season in Dubai with a new sale category, Element of Style.
“It is a great tribute to Dubai, the UAE, to the government bodies, collectors, fairs, gallerists and most importantly the artists, that we have collectively built a market, which back in 2006 when I stepped into the rostrum, I could only have dreamt of,” says Jussi Pylkkänen, Global President Christie’s.
Elements of Style will end the sale season at Jumeirah Emirates Towers on March 17 with a spectacular collection of limited edition handbags, exquisite ladies’ and men’s watches, collectibale Mont Blanc fountain pens for the Mad Men home office and vintage trunks and luggage from Louis Vuitton, perfect decorative pieces for living rooms, dressing rooms and bedrooms.
The traditional painting sale will celebrate the best of Middle Eastern art by integrating a 40 lot strong section entitled NOW AND TEN. The Important Watches sale will open the 20th sale season by offering an array of vintage, special edition and contemporary timepieces.
Collectors of timepieces and art can boost their displays at the Important Watches auction, which will open the 20th sale season on March 15. The Modern and Contemporary Art Auction on March 16 will celebrate the best of Middle Eastern art with a special section entitles NOW AND TEN, highlighting 40 key works of art from the region.
